3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Bars Recipe

These simple and tasty 3 ingredient peanut butter banana bars just require three basic ingredients! These delicious and chewy mini bars are prepared with natural foods to provide a balanced and nutritious snack for your children.

You'll notice a few of things if you walk down the snack bar aisle at the shop. First and foremost, the isle is EXTREMELY LARGE. There are probably dozens of bars to select from.

Second, the bars are nearly entirely made of highly processed and overly sweetened components, which is disappointing. Even brands that advertise themselves as "health foods" are guilty of this.

Brown rice syrup, inulin, and tapioca starch are not recommended for daily snacking by children. As a result, we choose to produce our own snack bars that are simple, whole, and nutritious.

These three-ingredient bars have the sweet flavour and convenient size of store-bought bars, but they're made entirely with peanut butter, oats, and bananas.

Ingredients

  • 3 medium banana

  • 2 cup oats, dry

  • 6 tablespoon peanut butter, all-natural

Toppings

  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips, dark

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and use parchment paper to line the bottom of an 8 x 8 inch glass dish. (We also used coconut oil to coat the dish's sides with our fingers.)

  2. Combine the bananas, oats, and peanut butter in a mixing bowl.

  3. Sprinkle walnuts and chocolate chips evenly over the dough in the prepared dish. Press the almonds and chocolate into the bars lightly.

  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre and it comes out clean. Cool for 20 minutes in the pan, then carefully slide a spatula beneath the parchment paper and transfer the entire uncut bar to a cooling rack. (At this point, you can cut the bars and eat them warm!) It will be easier to cut them if you give them more time to cool.)
